Listing Highlight: 805 W. Junior Terrace

Every once in awhile, a property’s history becomes just as important as the stainless steel appliances, or any other beautiful feature. When I heard the folklore surrounding 805 W Junior Terrace, I couldn’t believe my ears.

As the story goes, the inventor of carbonation, lived behind 805, and slowly went blind. When he could no longer see the lake from his home (in those days there was no Lake Shore Drive), he built this property on the lawn in front of for his daughter. The gorgeous stained glass window you see in the front entry was added so that there would still be something beautiful to admire, even if it wasn't the lake.

Today, 805 is one of the few properties situated on a triple lot, making the 8,000 ft house feel incredibly expansive. The rooms are huge, and plentiful, and yes, there is indeed a ballroom on the third level that is literally my dream game room.

Recently renovated, the owners paid homage to the home’s history by preserving the incredible original woodwork throughout the home. 805 W Junior Terrace is a very special property, ready for its future history buff owners.
