March's Feature Neighborhood: Lakeview East

The Lakeview neighborhood covers a wide area of the northeast side of Chicago. However, Lakeview East is located right along the lake. It is a narrow but packed area that offers denizens a residential oasis in the bustling hub of Northside Chicago.

You'll never be without food options here; Broadway and Clark streets offer an array of cuisines and fast food choices all within walking distance. Crisp, a local favorite, serves Korean fried chicken and a list of sauces and sides that will make you a regular. Across the way, Cesar's Killer Margaritas, known for their size and potency is a great place to start a long, fun-filled night.

Don't want to eat out? Wal-Mart, Mariano's and Treasure Island are all on Broadway.

The northern half of Lakeview East is home to Boystown. Go north along Halsted and there you'll find a host of local favorites such as Nookies Tree, a third location for the popular breakfast and brunch spot, and Roscoe's bar where there is always a performance or celebrity drop in to see. The Diversey Driving range sits right along the lakeside of this neighborhood, making a day of putting convinient and scenic despite being in the middle of the city. Lakeview East ranges from the Diversey brown/purple stop, north to the Sheridan Red line, making transportation a non factor for this accessible neighborhood.
